Beginners Workshop I: Upcycling Basics

from $45.00

Welcome to the Rebel Sewing Skills ! Hosted by La Casa Flor (@lacasafloratx) & Wear Trash.

This hands-on series teaches essential techniques for extending garment life, reducing waste, and building community resilience.

In our first session, you'll transform fabric scraps into three practical items: a patchwork scrunchie, a sturdy drawstring bag, and a versatile bandana.

You’ll walk away with completed projects, take-home patterns, and the confidence to tackle future sewing challenges independently.

Workshop Details:

  • Sunday, August 3rd, 12 pm - 3 pm

  • Bring-Your-Own-Sewing-Machine or have one provided

  • Skill Level: This class is suitable for beginners! For those who have never sewn before, I recommend getting familiar with your sewing machine prior to class, if you can. Try threading your machine and practicing a straight stitch on a bit of scrap fabric. Don’t worry if you get lost, I can assist at the class as well!

  • Materials all provided, but feel free to bring any textiles that you would like to upcycle.
